Sue Dyer Lovingly Remembered by Tony and all at Yeovil Freewheelers

Updated: May 30, 2019

Sue, a lovely friend,

For anyone who knew Sue Dyer she passed away this afternoon after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

I first met Sue in 2005 when her husband joined the Yeovil Freewheelers EVS (Blood Bikes) not long after she became secretary and later a trustee as well, this she did for 12 years until late in 2017 she gave it up due to her health, I have so many memories of this brave lady, when I would go out to give talks on the blood bikes, Sue would always turn up to take all the equipment for the talk, sometimes twice in a day and many miles but she would never ask for any fuel money or anything, she just loved it, She and Kevin joined us on many Fester's European Bike tours and so enjoyed all the banter and she had a wicked sense of humour sometimes, Sue was also a committed member of the Westland Classic Motorcycle Club and would attend many meetings and events with Kevin of course, she was also a dedicated member when it came to our big charity runs and never missed the Sunflower run which she has helped raise many thousands of pounds for the wonderful St Margaret's Hospice which is where she has received such superb care in her final days.

So please my friends, just take a minute to remember this brave lady who fought a tremendous battle, may she be at peace now. Sue it has been an honour to know you and our thought are with Kevin and their two daughters, Sarah and Rebecca.

Sleep well lovely Sue.
One of our Yeovil bikes has been named Sue Dyer in tribute. Sue contributed to the charity over more than a decade of volunteering as a rider, committee member and fundraiser.
